Yellowfin tuna are caught in Quepos waters year-round, but the fishing turns from good to genuinely peak from May through October, during the green season. Warmer water and heavier bait activity during these months pull tuna — often in large schools — closer to structure and current lines within reach of a full-day charter.

December through April, the dry season, still produces solid yellowfin action, just typically in smaller numbers per school compared to the mid-year peak.
