Sailfish season peaks during the dry season, roughly December through April. January, February, and March are typically the strongest months, when calm blue water and excellent visibility make it easier to spot and hook sailfish, and multiple hookups per day on a full-day offshore charter are common.

Sailfish are caught outside this window too, but the dry season's stable conditions are what push Quepos into world-record territory for release numbers.
